CSP/CST stakeholders: do you use or need standards?

    mapping of standards solarize

    Introduction

As a CSP/CST specialist, your organization must operate within a sector undergoing continuous maturation. The development, harmonization, and adoption of standards are essential to ensure performance, safety, bankability, interoperability, and long-term sustainability.

This survey is addressed to you professionals, researchers, engineers, project developers, and other specialists working in the field of Concentrating Solar Technologies. Its objective is to better understand:

    • Your level of awareness and knowledge of existing CST-related standards

    • Your degree of involvement in standardization activities

    • The perceived relevance and impact of standards on your work

    • Your interest in future standardization initiatives

Your insights will help identify current gaps, assess industry needs, and guide future actions to strengthen standardization efforts in the CST sector.

We greatly appreciate your time and expertise in contributing to this important initiative.

This survey and its exploitation are funded by the SOLARIZE European project. This project targets to support the long-term sustainability of EU-SOLARIS ERIC, the European consortium of research infrastructures dedicated to concentrated solar power and solar thermal energy (CSP/CST). Knowledge about standards in CSP/CST

Which standards related to CSP/CST have you already used?

    ISO

    EN ISO

    UNE

    IEC for CSP/CST (IEC 62862)

    IEC for CPV

    IEC for PV

    CIE

Are you aware of the standards currently in development for CSP/CST?

If no, would you be interested in being informed of standards in development?

    Relation to standards

Have you ever faced challenges in your job regarding standards? (Extra costs, need to adapt technologies, international trade barriers, ...)

If yes, could you shortly describe these challenges?

Would you qualify standards as :

    Needs in standards

Do you have internal practices or processes that you would like to become a standard?

    If yes, on which topic?

If you have items you would like to add to the current simplified mapping of standard in European context (see attached file, under the introduction), please fill in here:

    One step further

Are you already acting in one or several standardization technical committee(s) ?

    If yes, which one ?

If no, would you be interested in participating in such a standardization technical committee to contribute to the definition of standards?

Would you be interested to be part of a more detailed upcoming survey to precise to the CSP/CST community your needs about standards, and also about their qualification and certification?

If yes, would you like to have a public recognition of your involvement in this task?
